During this treatment I'll cleanse the skin, apply numbing cream for 30 min. While waiting for numbing cream to take effect, we'll go over aftercare instructions. Once the skin is numb, I'll cleanse again and degrease the skin with witch hazel. During the treatment, I'll either use Epidermal Growth Factor or Hyaluronic Acid gel.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) uses a sterile needle device to make "microinjuries" at a controlled depth on the skin. The idea is that these microinjuries induce a healing response that promotes the fibroblast cells to produce more collagen and elastin resulting in firming and tightening of the skin. Other results include a reduction in scars (especially acne scars), pore size, and stretch marks.
Skin needling treatments are performed in a safe and precise manner with the sterile MDPen™ needlehead and are normally completed within 60-100 minutes, depending on the selected area.
While multiple sessions are typically recommended to achieve optimal results depending on your specific goals, noticeable changes can be seen just one week after treatment and gradually improve as the body’s healing process begins to take effect. Side effects are similar to a mild sunburn, such as redness, tenderness, and some swelling.
